When it Rains, it Pours

As if the news that three Filipinos have scaled Mt. Everest's forbidding summit is not good tidings for a battered country, another Pinoy has brought more good news. I am talking about Boom-Boom Bautista who floored his opponent in the boxing ring in the third round. It seems that Freddie Roach has hit paydirt with his stable of formidable Filipino boxers headed by Manny Pacquiao. Roach should be given part of the credit for shaping his wards into the fearsome pugilists that they are now. Heck, I won't protest if the Government extends an honorary citizenship to him. I hope that more good news will come in the coming weeks so that we can take a break from the zealous coverage of fetid Philippine politics. Less politics and more coverage of Filipinos doing great abroad please.
