Let's Get Ready to Rumble!!!

The NBA playoffs kicked off last weekend with analysts predicting which teams will advance at the expense of other luckless clubs. Not surprisingly, the Detroit Pistons and San Antonio Spurs are picked as the most likely to clash in the Finals. But they have not factored the possibility that darkhorses like the Dallas Mavericks, Phoenix Suns, New Jersey Nets, even the Miami Heat might ruin the highly-touted championship rematch between the Pistons and Spurs. Even the Cleveland Cavaliers lead by King James can gatecrash into the party.
Yesterday, April 23rd, we watched the Denver Nuggets and the resurrected L.A. Clippers slug it out before the Clippers downed the Nuggets with a very narrow victory. It must have been a hair-raising experience for the Clippers considering that the Nuggets has Carmelo Anthony, the best clutch-shooter in the league at present.
In the evening, we watched the Chicago Bulls put up a spirited fight against the juggernaut called Shaquile O' Neal and his very nimble sidekick, Dwayne Wade. I already knew that the Bulls lost by five points when the result of their game was flashed during the match between the Clippers and Nuggets. But I still watched the replay of the game hoping that the Bulls would win in the replay. Shucks, the Bulls still lost in the replay that's why I hate replays. But Lady Luck seemed to favor the boys from the Windy City as the Heat's power forward, Odunis Haslem, was tossed out of the court by a referee for throwing his mouthpiece at the official (good thing it was not his underwear!). Haslem might be suspended for the next game, leaving the short Bulls with fewer big men to handle. And the audience at the Miami court all wore white, leaving us wondering about the significance of the motif.
